Story of Surrogate Motherhood As Prenatal Adoption

January 7th, 2021

Surrogate motherhood can be defined as the relationship where by a woman carries a child for an individual or a couple. After the woman has given birth, the child is later adopted legally by the individual or the couple who had gotten into contract with the woman. This process is caused by the fact that some women cannot do several things. One of them is that they may be infertile. Another fact is that they may not be in a position to carry a baby for the nine months period that is normal for a pregnancy. This process normal entails some form of payment to the woman who will be carrying the baby. Sometimes, you will find that the couple or individual might need to be sure that the woman carrying the baby will not change her mind during the pregnancy. This is when they get into a contract which changes normal surrogate motherhood to surrogate motherhood as prenatal adoption.

The difference between the two is that in the latter, the baby is adopted before the pregnancy has completed its term. Normally in surrogate motherhood, the woman who is to carry the baby is implanted with sperm from the intended father. This can be done in two ways namely through a couple or an individual. In the event that a couple is involved, surrogate motherhood as prenatal adoption takes place by use of a certain process. After making sure that the woman in the relationship cannot be able to conceive, the couple makes a decision to adopt a totally different child or go for surrogate motherhood whereby they will have a child who has the genes or DNA of the male. This makes them feel like they have a child who is actually theirs. The male in the couple will have to produce sperm at a medical center or a hospital. After he has produced the sperm, the woman who is supposed to be the surrogate mother will be given the sperm through a process that is known as artificial insemination. Once the sperm has been injected, it will take some time before the surrogate mother knows she is pregnant. Once the pregnancy is confirmed, they can get into a contract whereby they will bind the surrogate motherhood as prenatal adoption. In this case, the surrogate mother will be living with the couple or if not, most of her expenses will be taken care of by the couple.

In most instances, both methods are used. Surrogate motherhood as prenatal adoption can work for an individual whether male or female who has the desire to get a baby but is not capable of doing so. For an individual, it all depends needs on the desires of the individual. Take note that when a female is involved, she will have no biological attachment to the child due to the fact that the child will not have anything in common with the mother. The reason why most people have been opting for surrogate motherhood as prenatal adoption is because some of the surrogate mothers have been known to keep the baby once the pregnancy has been completed.
